yesterday, finally, i won myself something from ebay. it's a humbucker pickup, white in colour, from epiphone/gibson. i know it's quite pricey when converted to malaysian ringgit, from 23usd to rm72, but, it's quite cheap compared to the normal price you'll have to pay when you're buying from a shop seller. moreover, this pickup is for my project, building a semi-solid-semi-hollow guitar.
i'd still have to design the best design that suited my intention, i wanted a body that's not too modern looking, i'm not into the metal guitar designs, but alas, i'd like to stray a little bit from the traditional. i'm opting for a shape kind of like the es-335, if anyone knows it, but i'm fond also for the les paul guitar shape. but, all in all, simplicity is my best friend at the moment.
the plan is that, i'd fitted the guitar with a humbucker pickup, maybe a neck pickup, a single coil maybe, to get that twang that you can hear from a fender guitar, no trem bridge for me, i'm not even using all the dive and the bombing techniques, maybe a simple bridge, a saddle bridge that you could see on accoustic guitars. i'm not opting for a metal bridge anyway, i wanted to keep it as simple and plain as possible. i'm planning also to use a ready made neck, probably a gibson style neck, which probably, i'd buy from woh fatt music, or maybe i'd asked mr julian mokhtar to custom made me one neck, i'd say roughly, the cost for the neck, around rm250-rm300, that's quite almost, the same value as my intended tools.
but well, all in all, i'll have to start slowly this time.
wish me luck.

ice breaking
threading on a thin ice
i'm in the process of making myself scarce
who knows what future i have
who knows what dreams that i've had
loneliness is not an emotion for me
not anymore
'twas pleasure for myself
i see what i wanted to see
yet i'm unable to see clearly
i hear what i wanted to hear
yet i'm nearly deaf to the silent noise
of all the past that's bygone
no past can be regarded as spam
or junk mail anymore
i've tried to cope up with that
i've tried to mangle it somehow
but it has, it is, it will
and always
comes back and haunt me.

a thosand of apologies
in making myself well prepared for the practicuum, i had had a lot of issues to be dealt with. my laptop crashes itself with plenty of viruses to go down under, assignments and tons of them, some other issues that i shouldn't and wouldn't put it here, except, simply said, something related to arrangement, some kind of arrangement.
there'll be no excuse for me after this. i'll try to write everyday, at least one post per day.

mirror, mirror, on the wall
mirror, mirror on the wall,
who's the fairest of all?
SILENCE.
mirror, mirror on the wall,
who's the greatest of all?
SILENCE.
mirror, mirror on the wall,
tell me NOW or i'll make you HAVE a great fall!
SILENCE.
CRASH.
SILENCE.
then i realize,
i'm at different wall,
in another great hall.
SILENCE.

deafening silence
eyes around
listening to a cupboard
filled with emptiness
when there's so much darkness
at then of the light tunnel.
in crashing moment
all that one could have

IRON MAN
yesterday, or, should i say, very early of today, at 12.20am, me and my friends went for a movie, specifically, the IRON MAN movie at gsc midvalley and i tell ya, it was worthwhile. although it's very late at night, well, the last show of the night that is, we weren't exactly realized how fast time would flies.
the storyline was just awesome, although there were some issues on terrorism and islam, conflicts in the arab world, it's still a pretty darn good rendering from the iron man comics. one key note here, the translation for the movie IRON MAN is ORANG BESI. it's really funny isn't it? i still remember when i went to gsc to watch FINDING NEMO, the title was being translated as SI NEMO YANG COMEL. what? that wasn't exactly correct, politically speaking. i mean, its very obvious isn't it? why don't anyone who do the translating stuff, learn a bit more about their trades? the language aspect of it? i'd always make a joke that, thank goodness INCREDIBLE HULK wasn't being translated as RAKSASA HIJAU MENGAMUK.
there's another issue here on censorship. i'd like to talk more about this matter, but with my limited knowledge about the censorship board, i would like to express my personal opinions only on certain aspects on censorship. i've nothing against censorship, in fact, i support censorship. there are things, or issues, or subjects that needed further understanding, clarifications from various angle before we could have it shown, or aired. subjects such as satanism, dark evil, spiritual element, issues such as sexual activities between man and woman, transvetites, lesbian and gay stuff. that kind of issues, should not be put forth without any proper censorship as without proper guidance to the younger minds, they'd thought everything that they've seen or heard was the ultimate truth.
but then again, some aspects of films, songs or drama's, should not suffer the same consequences as those serious issues or subjects. let's talk about SINCITY, a piece from FRANK MILLER who uses two tone contrast that really strikes the audience with striking colours, black, white and red. just because of its title, when it was being brought from ink and paper to real life on screen, it received quite a lot of criticism from people who thought that they know what's best for the country, but truthfully, that's what best for them, as they couldn't comprehend or grasp the message behind a story.
the same goes with HELLBOY. in order for it to be shown in our beloved country, it's name was being changed into SUPER-SAPIENS. super sapiens?! why? what's wrong with HELLBOY? it's fiction. but, the power that maybe, it's been changed, and nothing can change it. oh well.
now, back to IRON MAN, i don't really care about the ORANG BESI stuff. what i know is that, the story was rendered much better than incredible hulk, which i think pretty darn silly rendering from the comics, although it was directed by ANG LEE, whom fame and fortune and in hollywood came from the movie BROKEN ARROW, i still think that the film could be done better. simple, yet subtle.

what a day this day can be...
today, i'm writing this entry, while i'm in the library, this is the first entry to be done in IPBA's library, and i surely hope that it's not the last time....
well, i'm in the midst of having the last day of intel teach programme, and having come to the part where the second major task of the day is to learn how to blog, and maybe, where to blog. so, sitting beside me, my friend mr rajkumar, complaining to no one in particular, about how life's so miserable for him, lately. it's not just him. i feel the same thing also, with lots of assignment to be completed, administrative efforts on posting forms, the attitudes of some peoples, and other things that just FUBARic to my point of view.
i've just learned that some people are good enough to 'extend' their point of view, opinion or whatever you want to call it, as the whole class opinion. it's bad enough to be a hypocrite for yourself, it's even worst to have hypocrites among the so-called friends. those hypocrites were the bad seed of our batch. wait, they're the bad batch in the whole section... no, wait, what am i blabbering about here anyway?
alright, roger and out.

Raoul Wallenberg
why is it everyday must be a day filled with tensions, apprehensions and all kinds of aggression? i just couldn't understand. but then, how can life be so complicated without these kinds of things?
oh well, i'd like to sit and pondermore about the subject, but, it shouldn't be bothered at all anyway...
yesterday i've read some interesting story about Raoul Wallenberg, a kind of patriot, a war hero as he can be said, during the world war 2, to be precise, during the period of holocaust. he was said to have been able to save quite thousands of jews during the cleansing period by the nazi's but in the end, the soviet team had him held up and thus, we, as the today's generation people, lost contact of any infor of his whereabouts, his life in prison, what had he done to be treated such a way... bla...bla....bla.... yada...yada....
i was just thinking that, after 2 years of having a serious writer's block, i'd finally be able to piece together a story that would fit nicely to the story that i've written and stopped.
hmmm... that's an afterthought...

just a side note
trainspotting
for those who might know this story, might be enjoyed, or even thrilled that my friend, Muhd Fauzi, found this movie among the many movies for sale over at a shop in Digital Mall, Petaling Jaya. it's been years since i last saw this movie, which features a young ewan mcgregor (this was way before he became obi wan kenobi.... hehehehe) as a drug addict who's trying to repent, his journey were quite somethig to be watched. it's been years since my first try of finding this movie, and finally i'd be able to watch it tonight.... HOOORRRAAAYY!
INTEL Teach Programme
today, all of us, the KPLI's, were asked to attend a compulsory-3-days course as a requirement for us to complete our study. oh well, its quite better than having to go to the same class, week after week, isn't it? but, as usual, there'd always some kind of issues that would drag everything else to elsewhere. i don't want to comment too much or criticising, but personally, i think that the management people could do better with themselves, if they sit down for a while, have some cupcakes and coffees in between, while liaising with each other on who's wanting to do what, where and when. it's issues like this that made us the KPLI's, like we're not good enough to be future teachers.
is it too hard to admit that they've screwed up somewhere while planning their schedule? at least that would retain some of their dignity as the best leader would always bowed down to the peoples, and admit that they've wronged, but promise that they'll worked twice harder and better to amend their mistakes. but, those days were long gone now.
all that they can mustered about were to say that, all this screwdness that they've inflicted were to see if we, as the future's, can cope up with all these menial irresponsibility. in someway, yes, they were right, these FUBAR's can be seen as a practice when we truly get out there, and swim the unfathomable sea of school childrens. it can be a good training, but then, at the current condition, they're just denying that they've make mistakes, saying this and that, just to justify their wrongness, without the guts of saying the truth.
it's okay, perhaps to some to just simply ignore the voice of many and kept control, it's even easier for those who have the power to simply deafen their ears to all these voices.
in silence retribution,
it's a deafening silence.

IIUM Alumni Dinner
Actually, I wanted to write something about the pictures that I've just posted, but since, I was still new to blogger, I didn't manage to write anything on that first post. Well, better late than never right?
Okay, the pictures were taken two days ago, Friday 25th April 2008 to be exactly, at IIUM Alumni Homecoming Dinner for Kulliyah IRKHS. It was held at the Engineering Coliseum, at Kulliyah of Engineering.
It was an exciting event for me as it was the first time after two years, since I last went to IIUM, International Islamic University Malaysia for those who didn't know better.
If it's not for a friend of mine that gave me an SMS to tell me about it, I wouldn't have known that there would be a dinner on that night. Oh well, there are other worst things in life, isn't it?
